In light of recent incidents in Saint Paul involving the tasing of an unarmed man named Chris Lollie, and the police shooting of Marcus Golden, it hardly seems appropriate for the Summit Church in Saint Paul to host a "Love the Police" celebration.

Saint Paul boasts the highest racially concentrated poverty in the Twin Cities Metro and people of color are subjected to the very same Jim Crow lurking and spitting laws that have been repealed in Minneapolis.

It is time that Saint Paul celebrate Black Lives, not shield armed forces from legitimate concerns over city sponsored racial violence.

The Green Party of the 4th CD urges the Summit Church to cancel its planned "Love the Police" events or play host to an event that is more sensitive and inclusive of Black Voices. #WeAreGreen. #BlackLivesMatter.
